We are happy to announce that Kat George is now an Associate of URA, and will form part of our broader advisory team. Kat has a professional background that sits at the intersection of engagement practice, regulation of essential services, consumer vulnerability policy and Traditional Owner rights.
Previously, Kat led the development of the ESC’s Getting to Fair strategy, the consumer vulnerability framework that underpins the ESC’s inclusive engagement requirements. She also led an earlier redrafting of the Water Customer Service Codes in 2019. Kat has also provided policy advice on Traditional Owner settlements, self-determination and free, prior and informed consent under the Traditional Owner Settlement Act at in the Native Title Unit at the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Most recently, through her advisory practice KG Advisory, Kat has been working on complex engagement and regulatory reform projects in the energy and family violence sectors.
